Fraulein Frost, Berlin

Arriving in Berlin last weekend was a bit of a shock to the system. Rain, cold and a fearsome wind left us all shivering in our inappropriate footwear after a four hour walking tour of the city. We thought we were in for the long haul with the cold weather but, miraculously, the sun Gods have shined down upon us this weekend and given us a short (but very sweet) taste of a Berlin summer. The sweetest taste this weekend came in the form of some delicious artisan ice cream at the trendiest ice cream shop in town, Fraulein Frost.

The inside is huge and spacious despite the hoards of people clamouring for the 1€ a scoop ice cream. If you're really excited, there's even space to sit down and eat it in the middle of the floor.

Ice cream flavours are nothing out of the ordinary, so if you really want to push the boat out, order the Spaghetti Eis, an ice cream sundae designed to look like spaghetti bolognese. On reflection, I wasn't sure how appealing that sounded so went for a double banana and chocolate scoop. Waffles are also available for between 3-4€ and they have just introduced a fro-yo machine. The perfect ice cream parlour for a hot day!
